Property Law FAQ

Buying or selling property in Ireland is a complex process which requires a lot of checks regarding the legal, tax, and planning status. Therefore, you should consult a solicitor before you attempt to buy a property in Ireland. It is also possible to grant power of attorney.

It is impossible to predict how long it will take. It all depends on several factors, such as whether you are involved in a series of transactions or when your mortgage becomes available. We will handle your transaction as quickly as possible and keep you updated about the progress. We will usually know the closing date once contracts are issued. Conveyance of a residential home usually takes between 4 and 6 weeks.

To ensure that you do not have any bankruptcy or court judgments against your name, your lender will require a bankruptcy search and judgment search if you apply for a mortgage to help you purchase your property.
